Net Blogs for Good Reading

By: Mary R Stewart

Whenever I have some time I try to find out interesting websites which give absorbing and good reading material. Such websites refresh my memories because I have traveled quite a bit and seen plenty of places. So I choose websites which give as many mind-blowing facts and figures of places and things. Recently I came across one website in which I could glean a lot of information, exchange ideas and learn something. This website consists of blogs ranging from the wonders of the world to cute homes and strange facts.
There has always been Seven Wonders of the World which has been changing with the times. The seven wonders of the medieval Ages are different from the seven wonders of the ancient world, which are again different from the seven wonders of the modern age. New groups of wonders included the underwater world and the industrial world. It was quite a revelation for me. Read the www.blogthebest.com to see for yourself what I am saying. You will not be disappointed, only impressed.
The Wonders of the world are truly great. Just imagine the Victoria falls with the water gushing down reminds me of the Niagara Falls of the US and Canada, though Victoria Falls is definitely much more spectacular. Going through the creation of the Panama Canal and how it has shortened the route and saved millions of dollars is truly interesting.
Can you imagine a shower changing color depending on the temperature of the water? Well, such a discovery is here for all of us to use. This signified the end of turning the shower and wondering whether the water would be too hot or too cold and then adjusting it to the required temperature. Isn't this a grand idea of knowing in advance how hot or cold the water would be?
Those interested in discoveries and history, like me, are delighted with the blog which talks of a 2,500 old Greek ship which has been raised from the sea bed off the Sicilian Coast in Italy. The ship is 21 meters long and is the biggest and the most preserved wreck. Artifacts like lanterns have been found on the wreckage and it is felt that the ship might have been used to sail short distances and a storm might have been responsible for its sinking.
We stay in five star hotels and grander hotels but one certainly wonders what it would be like to stay in an Ice Hotel. This is a real hotel built every year in the north of Sweden in the Arctic Circle. The architecture is wonderful, the blog says, and it is created out of the surrounding ice which naturally melts as the temperature rises. But in the heart of winter this Ice Hotel is available for people to stay and have a unique and cool experience.
Chickens are a delight to watch and eat. There are hundreds of recipes on cooking a chicken dish. But rarely does anyone give a thought to the lives of these poor chickens. Well, not everyone. There is one person who has managed to change the mindset of millions of people by his show, 'Hugh's Chicken Run' on television. Television chef Hugh Fernlay-Whittingstall has convinced people on buying a certain type of eggs to improve the quality of the lives of chickens. And he has succeeded in hiking the sales of these eggs by 50 % by his clever sales talk and convincing abilities.
The above mentioned blogs are just the tip of the iceberg. There are many more such interesting blogs on www.blogthebest.com that anyone who goes through it is bound to be impressed and waiting to read more.
