A creative and an artistic movement that stirred the world in 1920s was the Surrealism. It had its forms that were in plenty like politics, music, film and literature. Surrealism was made as a philosophy and a statement that created a revolution. It was not just a simple art that appealed to our sensory. A response from the world's involvement in the 1st world war was surrealism where people really had a dreadful experience on the whole. It is said that Andr Breton was the leader of surrealism while the following list of writers and artists were fundamental to the movement of Surrealism: Louis Aragon, Philippe Soupault. Paul luard, Benjamin Pret, Ren Crevel, Robert Desnos, Jacques Baron, Max Morise, Marcel Noll, Pierre Naville, Roger Vitrac, Simone Breton, Gala luard, Max Ernst, Man Ray, Hans Arp, Georges Malkine, Michel Leiris, Georges Limbour, Antonin Artaud, Raymond Queneau, Andr Masson, Joan Mir, Marcel Duchamp, Jacques Prvert and Yves Tanguy. Surrealism was also apparent in film. Such surrealist films include Entr'acte from 1924, La Coquille et le clergyman from 1928, Un chien andalou from 1929, L'toile de mer from 1928, L'ge d'Or from 1930 and Le sang d'un pote form 1930. Surrealism in art can be characterized as realistic elements but twisted in order to have a sort of fictional appeal. It is also a cross between reality and fantasy. Surrealism was the bridge that connected abstract with reality. Surrealism also sought to play with the human psyche. Artists that demonstrated this type of art include Giorgio de Chirico, Salvador Dal, Enrico Donati, Alberto Giacometti, Valentine Hugo, Mret Oppenheim, Toyen, Grgoire Michonze, and Luis Buuel among many others. The political philosophy of surrealism was taken all over the world with its art and it had its impact in the Caribbean, South America, from Europe to North America, Central America and in some parts of Asia. It became familiar in Latin America and had a huge impact in Argentina as many surrealists came from that country. It prevailed in America till 60s and was there in Europe in 20s. Surrealism was a major highlight in many of the art exhibitions that were quite remarkable to watch for. Surrealist Art exhibitions named La Peinture Surrealiste was held in 1925 and France was the country where it took place. In 1926, Galerie Surraliste exhibition took place. There was an exhibition in London named London International Surrealist exhibition in the year 1936. Actually there was a rise in the number of exhibitions held in the 1930s. Exhibitions like Fantastic art, Dada and Surrealism were held in New York in 1936. In Paris, the International Surrealist Exhibition took place in 1938. Forties saw some exhibition like the First Papers of Surrealism and the International Surrealist Exhibition in 1949 took place in New York was also held in Paris in 1959. Surrealist Intrusion in the Enchanters' Domain turned out to be the last exhibition in New York in 1960. Surrealism gave out a message that had all the thoughts from Marxism, Socialism and Communism. It created a big impact on the world not for its new art style but also for the messages it conveyed in the artwork.
