As a website or blog owner, you may realize that, on the web, content is king (or queen). You must have articles to publish on your website, even more content for your ezine, content to create free reports or even an ebook that you plan to sell. Plus, you need content in order to do article marketing. Geesh. That's a lot of content! I'm sure you have better things to do than be tied to your PC all day and night, writing yourself into a frenzy. I know I do. Luckily, I have some ideas to help you save time and money to get it. But, first, why is content so important? Here are a few reasons... First of all, the search engines reward content. They are in the information business, so they reward more quality information with more traffic to your site. That's right. The more information you put on your website, the more they'll send you visitors. (Note, I said "quality" content?) Second, your readers are looking for quality information. When they land on your website or blog and find it, they'll stick around. Not only that, but they are much more likely to tell their friends, recommend your website on forums, and stumbleupon it. You'll have a fan for life. Third, quality content establishes you as an expert in your field. If you're writing and sharing great information, people will begin to look at you as their "go to" person for information on that topic. You're reading this article right now, aren't you? So, where do you get articles for your website? Well, you have several options, each with its pros and cons. 1. Write it yourself. This is a wonderful option for some of your content. You can choose to write some of it yourself. However, there are options below that will enable you to attract quality content to your website without having to write all of it yourself. (Some you can just edit and use.) Using a mixture of the options will provide you with more flexibility to grow without feeling trapped to your PC all day. 2. Find a Writer. Go on the lookout at places like elance.com and Shelancers.com for a skilled ghostwriter that you can get onboard. Once you find that person who can write like the wind, sound just like you, and rely on -- give her a raise and quickly! Seriously, though, it is important to test any new frelancer on a small project before giving him or her a large one. Many of the top marketers rely heavily on their ghostwriters. The President relies on his speech writers. It's not a bad thing to get a little help with your writing needs. Plus, you can always personalize your articles to sound more like you before anyone else ever sees them. 3. Team up with others. Find other online business owners looking for exposure and recruit them as expert columnists or guest bloggers. They'll be glad to do it for the free advertising and you'll benefit by having more content for your website or blog. This is a great way to add value to your ezine, as well. 4. Visit the Article Directories. Check out the popular article directories like ezinearticles.com and freeaffiliatearticles.com for a plethora of articles written by known experts. These articles are available to website owners like you to reprint for free on your site. All you have to do is include the "author bio" which is the blurb at the end with a live link back to their website. As long as you do that, you may use as many of those articles as you'd like. 5. Load up on PLR articles. PLR articles are an internet marketer's answer to a prayer. PLR stands for Private Label Rights and means that you can freely edit the articles from these sites, and publish them on your website without being required to link back to any other sites. You become the expert when using PLR articles. Personalize the articles, tweak them for your market, insert examples or photos or case studies and publish them on your website -- or just use them as they are. Either way, you gain a lot of flexibility when working with PLR. Not only that but they are very affordable. How do you choose a good PLR service? Simple. Find a PLR service that's been around for awhile and offers professionally written and edited content that's sold in limited quantities. That will ensure that you're not getting recycled PLR from an unsavory reseller, but are getting your hands on top-quality content. Well, that's a quick intro to getting content for your website. I hope it gives you some ideas to help you build a booming online business. My wish for you is to work smarter, not harder -- and watch your online business grow!
