I'm constantly amazed of the amount of eBay sellers who can't be bothered to return a simple e-mail. It takes them a week to do s, and they wonder why their eBay business is struggling to make any sales. This may sound harsh but if this describes like something you would do, do not even bother setting up an eBay. You are destined to fail horribly. It's like certain sellers treat their business emails like they do their personal email accounts. This is not your personal gmail or aol email account. But if you are at your at your house or work address and you receive an email regarding your business, drop whatever you're doing. People are always pleased when somebody returns their email within 10 minutes. Doing this shows great professionalism. It also shows that truly care about their question or the problem they might be having. What's most amazing is when sellers take forever to respond to an email, even though the buyer has basically told them they want to buy the product. All they need is a little bit more information. For example, you might get an email from somebody asking what the combined shipping costs would be if they bought two or three products. This is a classic example of a buy question. All the seller has to do is answer it. If they answer it quickly they pretty much guarantee the sale. It doesn't give the potential buyer any time to change his mind. It's also perfect when you get an angry email from a customer. Let's say you shipped out the wrong product to the buyer and he comes back with a very angry email, threatening you, insulting you, etc.. The poor sellers will usually postpone their response as they just don?t want to deal with the buyer. The great sellers answer that email the moment they receive it and have read it. A quick reply lets the buyer know that you really care about their problem and they usually relax and are able to communicate at a more civil level afterwards.
